The Pain of Rejection
Rejection is something that is really hard to deal with. No age is exempted from this one but the problem lies on the fact that kids take rejection far more seriously than mature individuals. It affects their entire personality for several weeks or even months. If your kid is having problems after being rejected, then you have to do your best to help him get over it. Here are a few tips:
1. Be there for him. Don’t show him how sad you are after he got rejected. It will only give him the notion that he let you down.
2. Find out what’s bothering him. If his friends who did not get rejected is his problem then find ways to get them together and have a good time.
3. Share your rejections. Tell him stories of the time that you got rejected before and how you managed to get back on track. This will help him realize that he can also do it. This will help him boost his morale and get over the rejection that he had.
